No dedicated Rinehart family office, but different investments
Although Rinehart is an active investor in various areas, there is no dedicated Rinehart family office to the extent of the knowledge of our research team. Rinehart’s wealth is mainly concentrated in Hancock Prospecting, where she also started ventures and investments in other areas. Hancock was founded in 1955 by Lang Hancock. In 2018, the firm reported revenues over A$6BN. Rinehart also made investments in Ten Network Holdings and Fairfax Media. Recent investments through Hancock Prospecting include a $400M investment in London-based firm Sirius Materials in 2016. The deal also includes plans to create a mine in Yorkshire. Besides, in 2022 also boosted her investments in gas ventures. For instance, the Rinehart-financed firm Senex announced to invest A$1BN in gas projets in Queensland.
